BARLOW DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS Mr. John J. Barlow, aged 67, prominent resident of Isle of Wight county, died from paralysis last Tuesday night, January 22, at 9 o’clock, at his home, after an illness of nine months. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Mattie A. Barlow, a son, Hunter G. Barlow, two daughters, Mary A. Barlow of Isle of Wight and Mrs. W.J. Lyttle of Franklin, Va., and three grandchildren, Mattie Lou, Francis and John Guy Barlow. Mr. Barlow was a member of Mill Swamp Baptist Church for many years. Funeral services were held at the home at 2 o’clock Thursday afternoon by the Rev. Dr. Page of Bacon’s Castle Baptist Church. Burial was to Mill Swamp cemetery. Active pallbearers were Garland, Percy and Ryland Barlow, Hyden Womble, James Carroll, Willie Bell, R.W. Stallings, Jr. and Caleb Batten. Honorary Dr. T.H. Massey, G.W. Delk, W.D. His father, Junius Hyram BARLOW, is buried there also, w/ 2d wife.
