He was a member of Tucker Swamp Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Cora Bell Brown; two daughters, Miss Mildred Brown and Miss Frances Brown, both of Ivor; a son, James Brown, also of Ivor; his father, B.B. Brown of Ivor; five sisters, Mrs. L.R. Chapman, Mrs. Clifton Warren, Mrs. Samuel Warren, all of Smithfield; Mrs. L.R. Crumpler of Sedley and Mrs. Thomas Wells of Dendron; four brothers, Willard Brown, Newport News; Quincy Brown of Smithfield; Tom Brown and Skid Brown, both of Sedley; and a number of nieces and nephews.
