BRYANT, 19, KILLED MARCH 20TH IN KOREAN WAR Mr. and Mrs. James A. Bryant of RFD, Zuni, have been notified that their son James C. Bryant, 19 USMC was killed in action on Marche 20th in Korea. On March 26th the Times carried an item telling about James being listed as missing in action. He had been in the Marines for a little over 1 1/2 years and was nineteen years old July 21, 1952. James is a native of Isle of Wight County and a former student of the Smithfield School. Besides his parents he is survived by a sister Emily Bryant and a brother Tommy Bryant, who attend school at Smithfield. Following is a copy of the telegram received by his parents on Friday: "Deeply regret to inform you that your son Private first Class James C. Bryant, USMC, previously reported missing in action is now reported to have been killed in action March 20, 1953 in Korea in the performance of his duty and service to his country. Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy in your bereavement. Sorry, no details available at present. Our Marines who lost their lives are returned home for burial soon as possible. Any additional information received will be promptly forwarded. Details regarding National Cemeteries and reimbursable funeral expenses being mailed at a later date." (Signed) Lemuel C.
