BRYANT, 49, BURIED JULY 27, AT MILL SWAMP James Allen (Buddy) Bryant, 49, died July 25, 1955 at 6 a.m. at his home in Isle of Wight County after seven months illness. A farmer and lifelong resident of the county he was a member of the Mill Swamp Baptist Church and of its Men's Bible Class. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rosa Jones Bryant; a daughter, Mrs. Curtis O. Drummond, of Smithfield; a son, Thomas F. Bryant, of Isle of Wight; two brothers, Marshall Bryant of Suffolk, and Walter Bryant, of Chester, Pa., and seven sisters; Mrs. John Wells of Zuni; Mrs. Nathan Crocker and Mrs. Rob Rollins, both of Smithfield; Mrs. Nat Jones of Holland; Mrs. Jim Wells and Mrs. George Wells, both of Ivor, and Mrs. Roscoe Savage, of Petersburg. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, July 27, at 3 p.m. at the Bullock Funeral Home by the Rev. R. Furman Kenney, pastor of the Smithfield Baptist Church. Burial was in Mill Swamp Cemetery.
