A life-long resident of Isle of Wight County, he was employed as a welding foreman at Benthall Machine Company in Suffolk. The son of James and Mrs. Emily Harris Bryant, he is survived by six sons: Robert Lee Bryant of Rushmere, Samuel Thomas Bryant of Ivor, Marshall Lee Bryant Jr. of Suffolk, Jimmy Norman Bryant, William Ronald Bryant, and Rawls Edward Bryant, all of Smithfield; six sisters, Mrs. John Wells, Mrs. George Wells and Mrs. Jim Wells, all of Ivor, Mrs. Nathan Crocker of Smithfield, Mrs. Nat Jones of Franklin, and Mrs. William B. Baldree of Hopewell; a brother, Walter Ray Bryant of Petersburg; and 17 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bullock Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul J. Forsythe, pastor of Mill Swamp Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Central Hill Cemetery.
