BRYANT, 67, BURIED RECENTLY Mrs. Stella Virginia Bryant, 67, wife of John H. Bryant died at the home of her son John H. Bryant, Jr. after five months of illness. Born in Isle of Wight County, she had lived in Newport News for the past 40 years. She made her home at 2910 West Ave., until she became ill, going then to the home of her son. She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Surviving are her husband and three children, John H. Bryant, Jr., of Warwick county; Mrs. James Wilson Boyd, Wilmington, N.C.; and Melville I. Bryant of Hilton Village; also five grandchildren and one brother, Armistead l'Anson of Washington. Stella Virginia (l'ANSON; Mrs. John H. [Sr.] BRYANT, of Newport News, b. 9 Nov 1876, Isle of Wight Co., d. 12 Oct 1944, at son's home, Hilton Village, interred in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, 13 Oct 1944, "The Smithfield (VA) Times," Vol. 27, No. 31, Oct. 25, 1944 Additional information gleaned from her D.Cert., #23233 {Warwick Co, Newport Dist. #7}. Her father, Dr. Richard Walter l'Anson, is buried with his first & third wives in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg. His marker is pictured with his Find a Grave Memorial, #25170581. Her mother, {2d wife} Mary I. (EDWARDS) l'ANSON, died while Stella was an infant.
