All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WALTER LINWOOD BRYANT Walter Linwood Bryant, aged 67 years, well known farmer of Isle of Wight County, near Carrsville, died Thursday afternoon after a short illness. Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Lewis Bryant; two daughters, Misses Martha Walter and Lelia Marian Bryant, both of Carrsville; five sisters, Mrs. Sallie Barrett and Mrs. George Carr, both of Norfolk, Mrs. Mills Barrett of Windsor, Mrs. William Purcell of Wakefield and Mrs. Effie Bryant of Zuni; his step-mother, Mrs. Anna Hatfield Bryant of Zuni, and five sons, John Bryant of Norfolk, Elliott Bryant of Ivor, Edgar, Hunter and Samuel Bryant of Zuni. He was a very devout Christian and a member of Beaver Dam Church, where he was a deacon for a number of years. Funeral services will be held from his home near Carrsville tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 2:30 by his Pastor, Rev. J.T. Garland Moore. Interment will be made in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Gertrude's parents are buried in a LEWIS family cemetery, on Unity Rd.
