COFIELD, 80 OF WINDSOR, VA. BURIED AUGUST 21 Jasper (Jap) Jordan Cofield, 80, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, August 19, at 2:20 a.m. at his home on Route 2, Windsor. He was the husband of the late Mary Bell Cofield, the son of the late Emmett and Mary Murphy Cofield of Isle of Wight County, and a member of the Woodland Methodist Church. Survivors include a son, Eric M. Cofield of Windsor; two daughters, Mrs. Olivia Gayle, of Herndon, Va. and Mrs. Gracie Edwards of Windsor; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a brother, H.P. Cofield Sr. of Windsor; two sisters, Mrs. Eunice Atkins of Fredericksburg, and Mrs. Viola Douglas, of Wilson, N.C. and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of H.P. Cofield, near Orbit, Va. The Rev. Ward L. Donat, pastor of the Woodland Methodist Church, and the Rev. J.M. Roberts, retired, conducted the services. Burial was in the family cemetery.
