He was a native of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of Antioch Congregational Christian Church and its Men’s Bible Class. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Brown Chapman; two daughters, Mrs. Jack C. Arrington of Windsor and Mrs. Gerald E. Whitley of Franklin; a brother, Bernard Chapman of Portsmouth; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Purviance Funeral Chapel, Wakefield, by the Revs. V. I. Hunter and Conrad Cornelius. Burial will be in Windsor Cemetery. The family will be at his home. Memorial donations may be made to Windsor Rescue Squad.
