Taylor of Smithfield Baptist Church and James A. Cales of Surry. Burial will be in St. Lukes Memorial Park. Cofer died Tuesday in his home. He was a native in Isle of Wight County and a retired employee of the state of Virginia. He was a member of Smithfield Baptist Church. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of George F. Dashiell American Legion Post 49. Survivors include his widow, Lucille Hollowell Cofer; a daughter Mona Cofer Wyatt of Courtland; and three grandchildren.
