COFER OF SMITHFIELD WAS BURIED MAY 2ND Funeral services for Mrs. Charles William Cofer, 80*, of Smithfield, who died at her home Tuesday morning after a long illness, were conducted at the home Wednesday afternoon , by the Rev. William Brayshaw, Rector of Smithfield Episcopal Church. Interment was in Ivy Hill Cemetery. The deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frank E. Moore, Smithfield, Mrs. T. Wallace Jones of Cheriton, and Mrs. E.M. Whiteside of Lewisburg, Pa. Active pallbearers were Wilson Ames, Harry Dashiell, V.W. Joyner, Jr., John I. Cofer, Jr., James C. Sprigg Jr. and Colgate W. Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers were L.L. Chapman, Henry Fold, Dr. Rea Parker, Dr. Walter Ames, W.M. Moody, J. Craig Nelson, James R. Rowell Jr., A.E.S. Stephens, F.B. Simpson and W.P. Warren.
