COFER DIES AT HOME HERE Mrs. Carson P. Cofer, widow of the late C.P. Cofer, of Isle of Wight County, near Smithfield, died at her home on Tuesday night. Mrs. Cofer was about 88 years old, at the time of her death. Funeral services will be held this Thursday morning at 11 o'clock from Trinity Methodist Church, with Dr. T. McN. Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Ivy Hill Cemetery. The board of Stewards of Trinity Methodist Church will serve as pallbearers, and Susanah Wesley Bible Class of which she was long a member, will attend the funeral in a body. Margaret Sarah (PARKER; Mrs. Carson P.) He is marked as a Confederate veteran, but he does not appear on any IoW.Co. rosters, nor were he or Margaret pensioners. His bro Nathan P. COFER served in the Smithfield Light Artillery Blues (A/19th Va. Art'y) was wounded late in the war. Birthdate &c. from D.Cert. (#5573 {Newport #12}). Her father is likely identical with the Wm.H. PARKER (1820-1861) buried in Old Saint Luke's Cemetery - IWCHS GSSTF #17. Her mother Sarah Ann (EVERETT) PARKER appears widowed in the 1870 & '80 Census.
