GEORGE WESLEY COFER 

GEORGE WESLEY COFER IS CLAIMED BY DEATH 

  Funeral services for Mr. George Wesley Cofer, aged 61, who died at his home 
in Smithfield Monday at 7 a.m., a prominent funeral director of this community 
and a lifelong resident of Smithfield, were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the 
Smithfield Baptist Church, Rev. L.F. Paulette, pastor of the church 
officiating. Interment was in Ivy Hill Cemetery.  The funeral was conducted by 
Smithfield Lodge No. 18.

  Active pallbearers were J.I. Cofer, Sr., Dr. W.C. Ames, J.R. Barlow, J.M. 
Chapman, W.F. Moody, F.B. Simpson, W.H. Sykes, Robert Stalling.  Honorary
