[Special to The Times-Dispatch.] FRANKLIN, VA., February 18. - Mrs. Asenath Cutchin, relict of Henry Cutchin, died at her home in Isle of Wight county, a few miles from here to-day. She was sixty-six years old and died from pneumonia. She leaves two children - Mrs. Braxton Cutchin and Mrs. Tom Whitehead, of Isle of Wight county, and two brothers - Messrs. Eley [sic*] and Allan Daughtry [sic; Allen Daughtrey], of Nansemond county. She resided in the town for a number of years until quite recently, and leaves a number of relatives, friends and connections in this section. Asenath (DAUGHTREY; Mrs. William Henry) CUTCHIN, farmer, b. ca 1842*, Isle of Wight Co., d. 18 Feb 1908, at home, Isle of Wight Co., "Times Dispatch" (Richmond, VA), No. 17840, Wed., Feb. 19, 1908, p. 2 *Additional information: None of the records agree on her age. The 1900 Census - Windsor Dist., Isle of Wight Co. - gives b. Dec 1841, widowed, farmer, OFF #211. She left will 12 Feb 1908, probated 25 Apr 1908, naming her son-in-law Braxton M. CUTCHIN executor, and directing that any property in Franklin be sold. (Southampton Co. WB22:166-67) Her mother "Prissey" Priscilla (HOLLAND; Mr. Joshua) DAUGHTREY left will recorded 2 Sep 1872, naming Asenath & her brothers among her heirs. (Isle of Wight Co. WB30:247) Both brothers Eley (often written "Eli") & Allen were Confederate veterans. Eley d. 22 Sep 1930 in Nansemond Co. & was buried in a private cemetery 5 miles east of Franklin.
