SUFFOLK - Funeral services for James Franklin (Frank) Culpepper Jr., 57, were held Tuesday in Wilroy Baptist Church by the Rev. Charles Gibson and the Rev. Lance K. Knowles. Burial was in Mill Swamp Baptist Church cemetery with R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home in charge. The husband of Jacqueline Batten Culpepper died Saturday. A native of Nansemond County, he was the son of Bessie Marks Culpepper. He was a farmer, a member of Wilroy Baptist Church, and an Army veteran. He was a member of Suffolk Elks Lodge 685 and of Welcome Lodge 50 of the Knights of Phythias. Other survivors include two sons, Wayne F. Culpepper of Galax and James S. Culpepper of Suffolk; two daughters, Jacqueline Cassada of Ruckersville and Shirley Ann Culpepper of Suffolk; three sisters, P.A. Saunders of Suffolk, Richard J. Holland of Windsor, and Elizabeth C. Holland of Richmond; and brother Benjamin S. Culpepper of Salisbury, Md.
