JESSE EDWARD CLAUD

SUFFOLK, July 14 - Funeral services for Jesse Edward Claud, 29, of Isle of Wight 
County, who lost his life while bathing off Morgart's Beach, were conducted 
today at noon at Colosse Baptist Church, by the Rev. H. Conrad Blackwell of 
Oxford Methodist Church, Suffolk.  Burial was in Colosse Cemetery.

   A choir from Oxford Church sang the hymn, "I Will Take My Vacation In Heaven" 
and "Will the Circle Be Unbroken."  A pall of Easter lilies and pink roses 
covered the casket.  Active pallbearers were Edward, Woodrow and Waverly 
Whitley, Fleetwood Turner, Philip and Sidney Winborne, Causey Griffin and Harry 
Holland.  Friends and neighbors of Suffolk and Isle of Wight County served as 
honorary pallbearers.
