McLeod, Miss Archer, Mrs. King, Mrs. Chalmers, and Miss Conway - Farley-Wilson Marriage - Paid High for Fowls. ____ (Special to Virginian-Pilot.) Suffolk, Va., Jan. 22.- The late prevalent weather conditions have brought about lung disease which is about epidemic. The victims are passing away with a rapidity that is well nigh appalling. There are five fatalities to tell about to-day - all women - and many others are ill. [...] MRS. CHALMERS. Mrs. Sallie Chalmers, wife of Ashton R. Chalmers, the leading druggist of Smithfield, died about 6 o'clock this morning at her home on Mason street. She had been a sufferer with consumption for several months, but her illness was not thought critical till a few days ago.  The deceased was formerly Sallie Eley.  She had been made a bride less than twelve months ago, having wedded last February. A husband and two sisters survive- Mrs. T.B. Wright and Mrs. J.R. Jordan, Smithfield's former Mayor. Mrs. Chalmers leaves several relatives in Suffolk, some of whom will attend the obsequies at Ivy Hill. ****************************************************************************** Deaths in Suffolk. SUFFOLK, VA., Jan. 22.-Special- [...] Mrs. Sallie Chalmers, wife of Ashton R. Chalmers, the leading druggist in Smithfield, died at 6 o'clock this morning, aged thirty-four years*.  She had been suffering with consumption for many months but had only been critically ill since last Saturday.   She was formerly Miss Sallie Ely.  She was a sister of Mrs. T.B. Wright, whose husband once represented Isle of Wight in the House of Delegates, and Mrs. J.R. Jordan, both of Smithfield. Sallie Pickett (ELEY; Mrs. Ashton R.)
