All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JAMES BENJAMIN CONES James Benjamin Cones, age 59, well known resident of Colosse community died suddenly in the field at his home Thursday afternoon, November 30, after returning from a shopping trip to Franklin. Mr. Cones is the son of the late J.M. Cones and Rebecca Spivey Cones of Colosse and husband of Martha S. Cones. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ryland O. Carr of Carrsville; one son, James Everett Cones of U.S. Navy, and one brother, W.H. Cones of Virginia Beach. Funeral services were held at Colosse Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. and were conducted by Rev. Jack Boyles. Interment was in the church cemetery. The active pallbearers were: J.P. Carr, Horace Spivey, Julian Jenkins, Chester Carr, John A. Coggins, Shirley T. Holland, Bill Johnson and Joseph Johnson.
