GEORGE THOMAS EDWARD COUNCILL

   George T. Councill, 82, died Tuesday night at 9 o'clock at the home of 
his son, H.L. Councill, near Holland, following a protracted illness.  Mr. 
Councill is survived by a daughter, Mrs. C.G. Coffman of Suffolk; five sons, 
W.A. and M. Godfrey Councill of Franklin, and J.E., J.G., and H.L. Councill 
of Holland; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

   Services were conducted from the I.O. Hill & Company funeral home in 
Suffolk Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson with 
burial in Beaver Dam Church cemetery.
