WILLIAM AMASA COUNCILL

   William Amasa Councill, 83, died Saturday morning in a Norfolk nursing home.

   A native of Isle of Wight County, he was a son of George T. and Mrs. 
Genevia Snipes Councill and the husband of Mrs. Annie C. Councill.

   Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Nellie C. Foxworth of 
Norfolk; a son, Harry C. Councill of Murfreesboro, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. 
Charles Coffman of Holland; two brothers, Jesse Councill and Harvey Councill 
of Holland; and a grandchild.

   A funeral service was held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in Beaver Dam Church 
Cemetery by the Rev. C.J. Benner of Franklin Baptist Church.  W.J.M. Holland & 
Sons Funeral Home was in charge.

   Pallbearers were Shirley Councill, Robert Eubank, Jobie Holland, Alonza 
Joyner, Virgil Derby and G.C. Duck.
