GEORGE CHANNEL 

Mr. GEORGE CHANNEL, a well known citizen of Isle of Wight died recently, aged 
seventy-one years. 


George Franklin CHANNELL [CHANNEL], Confederate veteran, 
Isle of Wight Co. native, d. 8 Jan 1897, age 71, 
interred in the CHANNELL family cemetery*, Channell Way, off Carrollton Blvd., 
"The Norfolk (VA) Virginian," Jan. 15, 1897 

*A modern V.A. stone (pictured) shows he died on his birthday. 
   His wife, parents & two of his sisters are also buried there.

George was a private in Co. B, 13th Va. Cav., and is marked with a
