CHANNELL, 46*, NATIVE I-W COUNTY, BURIED FRIDAY George Franklin Channell, native of Isle of Wight County and prominently identified in the trucking business, died in Norfolk August 11th. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Belva Channell and two small children; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Channell, of Carrollton; five sisters, Mrs. Frank G. Berryman, of Smithfield; Mrs. E.A. Mannion, of Chicago; Miss Bessie Channell, of Carrollton; Mrs. J.W. Garrett, of Maxwell Field, Ala., and Mrs. Gordon Delk, Jr. of Smithfield. The body was taken to the Rouse Funeral Home, where it remained until Friday at 9:30 a.m. when it was removed to the home of his parents. The cortege left the residence at 10:30 o'clock Friday morning for services at the graveside in Old St. Luke's Church*. The funeral was conducted by the Rev. John W. Newman. Active pallbearers were Quincy Gilliam; Frank Wishart; Elmo Holloway; Randolph Jordan; Francis Norsworthy; Ross Minton. George Franklin CHANNELL, in the trucking business, b. (#16898) gives b. 20 Jan 1897, Isle of Wight Co.; occupation: Truck Service. He & his parents are buried in St. Luke's Memorial Park (#18), adjacent to Old St. Luke's Church Cemetery (#17).
