NAOMI ADELL WHITLEY CUNNINGHAM

   CARRSVILLE - Mrs. Naomi Adell Cunningham, 69, died here at the home of 
her daughter, Mrs. Margaret C. Johnson early Monday after long illness.

   She was the wife of Willie Cunningham of Carrsville and a daughter of 
Joseph C. and Annie Britt Whitley.  A native of Hertford County, N.C., 
she came to Carrsville about 20 years ago and was a member of Sunbeam 
Baptist Church.

   Surviving besides her daughter and husband are a daughter and husband 
are a daughter, Mrs. J.G. Goodrich of Suffolk; a son, Stanley Cunningham 
of Carrsville; a sister, Mrs. Nora W. Cunningham of Como, N.C., and nine 
grandchildren.

   A funeral service was held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons 
Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, Jr., of Beaver Dam 
Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.

   Pallbearers were John Edward Rose, T.P. Eason, James Daughtrey, William 
Rose, Jammie Presson and J.C. Rose.
