Mrs. Bettie Carr Is Laid to Rest Today 

  Funeral services for Mrs. Bettie M. Carr, widow of D.W. Carr, who died 
Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the home in Isle of Wight county, were held 
this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from Antioch Church, conducted by the Rev. E.B. 
White. 

  She is survived by nine children and one brother, Jesse J. Thomas, of 
Abingdon, Va.

  Mrs. Bettie M. Carr, 73 [sic*], widow of D.M. [sic; D.W.] Carr, died 
Saturday at her home in the county after a long illness.  She is survived by 
four sons, five daughters and a brother, Jesse Thomas of Abingdon, formerly 
of Smithfield.  Funeral services were held at Antioch Christian Church Monday 
afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by the Rev. E.B. White.  Burial was in the Church 
cemetery.
