He was born in Nansemond County, VA, the son of the late Carlton B. Cherry and Ruby V. Cherry. He retired as a Autobody Specialist from the Virginia Department of Transportation and currently was a Fuel Truck Operator for Southern States. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Suffolk, VA and the Simply Blessed Sunday School Class. Brad loved riding motorcycles, driving four-wheelers at the Hatfield and McCoy trails with family and friends. He spent numerous years on the Albemarle Sound making sure all the kids, grandkids, and family knew how to swim, ski, and fish. Over the years, Brad led several bible studies, worked in AWANA, and served on numerous international mission trips. Brad is survived by his wife of 43 years, Dawn Cherry; sons and daughters- in-law, Chris B. Cherry (Kelly), Kellyn B. Cherry (Heidi); daughter, Megan N. Cherry; grandchildren who knew him as "G-Man", Benjamin, Chloe, Levi, and Wyatt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret C. and William Rhodes, Elaine C. and Wayne Holland, Betty Jean C. Simpkins, Jo Ann C. and Roland Ellis, Kathy C. McCreary (Jerry); mother-in-law, Sherry L. Price; numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will be private at Antioch Church Cemetery.
