All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ CLAUDE CRAWFORD CARR Claude Crawford Carr, 69, a lifelong resident of the Walters community, died at his home on Sunday, August 23, after several years of ill health. He was the son of the late Lysander H. and Mrs. Sarah Bradshaw Carr, and was a member of Mt. Carmel Congregation Christian Church and of Beech Camp 186, Woodmen of the World. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maggie Eva Carr of Walters, and a son, Fletcher J. Carr of Roanoke. Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Carmel Church on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. Ellis Clark of Windsor, with burial in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The Woodmen of the World conducted services at the grave and served as honorary pallbearers. Active pallbearers were Howard Carr, Jasper Carr, Stanley English, Otis Joyner, Charley Munford, Ross Munford, Lynn Wade and Willie Wade.
