Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ellis Clark. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Wayland Perry, Dr. C.C. Crossland, Linwood Duck, Ryland Duck, Jasper Carr, Jimmy Joyner, A.L. Duck Jr., and W.T. Pace Jr. Mrs. Carr, 71, died Saturday night in her home. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of Gus and Mrs. Addie Johnson Holland and the widow of Samuel Betts Carr. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church. She is survived by three sons, James Madison Carr of Carrsville, R. Staley Carr of Smithfield and Alton Lee Joyner of Doswell; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley E. Brown of Windsor and Mrs. Mary Ann West of Ivor; three brothers, Leroy Holland of Windsor, Lawson Holland of Waverly and Taylor Holland of Walters; 16 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
