He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma Crumpler Carr; one daughter, Mrs. Louise Wiseman of Richmond; two sons, Charles Edward Carr, Jr. of Camp McCoy, Wis., and Louis Earl Carr of Walters; five sisters, Mrs. S.E. Babb and Mrs. W.H. Harrison of Norfolk; Mrs. J.R. Boykette and Mrs. Cora Lee Darden of Franklin and Mrs. L.M. Byrd of Portsmouth; one brother, Paul Carr of Franklin. Services were conducted by the Rev. Fred Wright, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Boyles of Beaver Dam Tuesday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Pallbearers were Mr. Harrell, Otis Joyner, E.W. Beale, John Ballard, G.P. Lankford, Johnnie Stephens, Julian Carr, Charles Arrington, W.J. Bradshaw and Taylor Holland. Interment was in Beaver Dam Cemetery.
