Carr Funeral services for Charlie Lee Carr, who died Sunday, were conducted Wednesday afternoon at the Hill Funeral Home by the Rev. R.D. Bray, pastor of Pentecostal Holiness Church, Nansemond County, and the Rev. Harold C. Leake, pastor of York Street Pentecostal Holiness church. Burial was in Colosse Bapist Church Cemetery. Rev. Bray read Tennyson's poem "Crossing the Bar." Miss Betty Carter sang "The Last Mile of the Way" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus." She was accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Claudia Jacobs, organist. The casket was covered with a pall of red gladioli and white carations. Pallbearers were B.L. Rountree, A.I. Griffin, E.R. Rodgers, L.M. Jordan, L.F. Byrum, J.H. Strickland, H.O. Carter and J.E. Daniels. His widow Goldie Mae (CURRY) CARR - his third wife - 2m. Matthew Lee HARGRAVE 7 Aug 1961 in Suffolk. (Nansemond Co. #120) Matthew (1929 - 1976) appears on the GSSTF report, but Goldie (1925 - 2006) died after the report was compiled in 2004.
