CARR SMITHFIELD, March 3 - Funeral services for Gavin Eugene Carr, who died at the Louise Obici Memorial Hospital on Thursday, were conducted Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Bullock Funeral Home. Rev. Ellis Clark, pastor of Antioch Christian Church, conducted the services. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemtery, Suffolk. Active pallbearers were Morrison H. Holland, Charles H. Holland, Rodman E. Holland, Melvin Uzzell, Jasper Holland and Wilton Whitley. Friends of the family were honorary pallbearers. ****************************************************************************** Gavin Eugene Carr Buried Sunday In Suffolk Gavin Eugene Carr died at the Obici Hospital, late Thursday night, February 28th after a long illness. A prominent farmer and lifelong resident of Isle of Wight County, he was a member of the Antioch Christian Church. Besides his and Mrs. Ella Mae Butler, both of [sic; widow, Mrs. Ella R. Carr, he is] survived by five daughters: Mrs. Jessmer Bradshaw and Mrs. Callie Atkins, both of Baltimore; Mrs. Edwin Whitley and Mrs. Rudolph H. Holland, both of Windsor; Mrs. Lucille Dunton, of Phoebus; and two sisters, Mrs. George Pearce and Mrs. Ella Mae Butler, both of Windsor; 10 grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren. The body rested at the Bullock Funeral Home, where services were conducted in the chapel Sunday at 2:30 P.M. by Rev. Ellis Clark, pastor of Antioch Christian Church. Burial was in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. Pallbearers were Morrison H. Holland, Charles H. Jones, Rodman E. Holland, Melvin Uzzell, Jasper Holland and Welton Whitley.
