All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JESSE THOMAS CARR Jesse Thomas Carr, 74, a well-known retired farmer of the Carrsville community, died suddenly Monday morning, October 30, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S.A. Hines of Zuni. He was the husband of Mrs. Tina Holland Carr of Carrsville, and the son of the late James A. and Beadie Carr of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Besides his wife and Mrs. Hines he is survived by three other daughters, Mrs. Fleetwood Bain of Portsmouth, Mrs. B.L. Rountree of Suffolk, and Mrs. Chesley Gwaltney of Dundalk, Md.; one son, Jasper Carr of Walter; seven grandchildren; and four brothers, James A. and Alfred Carr of Holland, John F. Carr of Hopewell, and Henry Carr of Suffolk. Funeral services were held at Beaver Dam Church on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with Revs. Edwin C. Thornton, Jack Boyles and Ellis Clark officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
