LUTHER LAFAYETTE CARR

   Luther L. (Fate) Carr, 76, a native of Isle of Wight County and resident of 
Walters for many years, died suddenly Sunday morning, April 29, after 
suffering a heart attack.

   Mr. Carr, a familiar figure on the streets of Walters, was the son of the 
late Solomon and Mrs. Martha Carr of Isle of Wight County.  He was a member of 
Mt. Carmel Congregational Christian Church.

   Surviving him are a number of nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 4 o’clock in Mt. Carmel 
Christian Church by Rev. Charles Crutchfield officiating.  Burial was in the 
church cemetery.

   Active pallbearers were John Ballard, Willie Carr, J.F. Carr, Wilson 
Rhodes, Ernest Hines, Frank Johnson, N.F. Carr and John I. Duck.
