All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MARY "MOLLIE" ELIZABETH HOLLAND CARR Mrs. Mary (Mollie) Elizabeth Carr, 86, well-known resident of the Walters community, died Thursday morning, February 16, at her home after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Elijah and Mrs. Elizabeth Hedgepeth Holland of Holland and one of the oldest members of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Julian Carr and Lonnie L. Carr, both of Walters; one daughter, Mrs. Reba Carr Gay of South Norfolk; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. J.R. Cox of Suffolk, Mrs. Jesse Copeland, Mrs. Susie Butler and Mrs. Crawley Carr of Carrsville and Mrs. Viola Jernigan of Smithfield; one brother, Rommie Holland of Suffolk and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock in Mt. Carmel Christian Church by Rev. Charles Hutchinson, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. Edwin C. Thornton, pastor of Beaver Dam Baptist Church, and Rev. Ellis Clark, pastor of Cypress Chapel Christian Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers were Wilson, L.B., Bonnie H. Shelton and Jasper Carr, Wilson Holland, Fenton Beale and James Joyner. Mary "Mollie" Elizabeth (HOLLAND; Mrs. Samuel T.)
