SOLOMON CARR

  MR. SOLOMON CARR, near Windsor, Isle of Wight county, aged about seventy 
years, died on Monday evening last, after an illness of several weeks.

b. 1822, Isle of Wight Co., d. 14 Aug 1876, near Windsor, 
interred in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery*, near Windsor,

He served as a private in Co. F, 61st VA Infantry. 

He 1m. Mary "Polly" WHITEHEAD 22 Feb 1844 in Isle of Wight Co. 
   She d. 4 Jul 1853 in Isle of Wight Co. 

He 2m. Anna (POWELL; widow of Everett) JOHNSON 8 Jan 1854 in Isle of Wight Co. 

He 3m. Mary Jane (VAUGHAN; widow of Jethro T.) JOYNER 3 Jun 1860 in Isle of 
   Wight Co.  She applied for a pension 23 May 1902, stating Solomon d. of 
   indigestion.  She d. 30 Jun 1904 and was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery,

The "Christian Sun" obit contains substantial notes on their families. 

Note that there is another Solomon CARR (1830 - 1906) buried at Antioch - also 
   a Confederate veteran, who served as a private in Co. D, 16th VA Infantry, 
   whose second wife Mary Jane "Mollie" (BUTLER) CARR applied for a pension 
   2 Jun 1928.
