Carr of the Maynard community in Isle of Wight died at his home Sunday, February 16, in the 74th year of his life. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where his funeral was conducted Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock by his Pastor, Rev. W.B. Denson, assisted by Rev. James E. Reynolds of Cottage Place M.E. Church, Portsmouth. Special music was given by the church choir. The body bearers were: W.M., E.A. and W.J. Bradshaw, J.W.B. Thompson, W.R. Lamb, J.E. Rose, J.G. Duck and R.H. Joyner. He is survived by nine children: Mrs. S.E. Babb of Norfolk, Mrs. L.M. Byrd of Portsmouth, Mrs. H.C. Duke of Suffolk, Mrs. J.R. Boyette, Mrs. W.H. Harrison, Miss Cora Lee Carr, Chas. E. Carr, William Carr and S. Paul Carr, all of Franklin and the community and by 12 grandchildren.
