Carmel Cemty. Samuel B. Carr, 82, retired farmer of the Walters community died in his home early Tuesday, June 6, 1961 after a long illness. He was the son of Robert Henry and Mrs. Sarah Jane Carr of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Cora Lee Holland Carr; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann West of Ivor and Mrs. Shirley E. Brown of Windsor; four sons, Bonney H. Carr and James M. Carr of Walters, Robert Staley Carr of Smithfield and Alton Lee Joyner of Doswell; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A funeral service was conducted in the Holland Funeral Chapel at 3 P.M. June 7 by the Rev. Ellis Clark, former pastor of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery.
