Carr, prominent farmer, aged 73, died Sunday afternoon at his home at Zuni. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ella Joyner Carr; his stepmother, Mrs. Mary Jane Carr; three half-brothers, Thomas, Jabin and Charles Carr, all of Windsor, and three half-sisters, Mrs. Ella Mae Butler, Mrs. Annie Holland and Mrs. Cora Pierce, all of Windsor. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock Antioch Christian Church by the Rev E.B. White, pastor, assisted by the Rev. W.R. Buhler. Burial will be in the church cemetery. His father was a Confederate veteran, having served as a private in 16th VA Inf., CSA, & been paroled at Appomattox C.H. His father & step-mother are also buried at Antioch. Sol & "Etta May" JOYNER (1876-1961), daughter of Jethro Thomas & Josephine Elizabeth (DAUGHTREY) JOYNER, m. 23 Oct 1895 in Gates Co., NC. Etta May 2m. Mills Thomas HOLLAND (1870-1942), 8 Apr 1939 in Windsor. (IoW.Co. #25} Etta is buried with Sol; her parents are also buried at Antioch.
