VIRGIE WILLIAMS CARR

   Mrs. Virgie Williams Carr, 63, widow of Charles W. Carr who died last July, 
died unexpectedly early Sunday morning at the home of W.W. Carr in Walters. 
Mrs. Carr was on a short visit at the home of Mr. Carr when taken with a heart 
attack.  She made her home with her son, Harry C. Carr of Zuni.  She had 
attended the armory dedication on the Saturday before she died.

   Mrs. Carr was an active member of the Mt. Carmel Christian Church and the 
Women's Missionary Society.

   Daughter of the late David and Lula Britt Williams of North Carolina, she 
is survived by her son in Zuni; one daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Hayes of 
California; two brothers, David Williams of Coal City, W.Va. and Raleigh 
Williams of Norfolk; two grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at the Mt. Carmel Christian 
Church by the Rev. Ellis Clark and the Rev. T.T. Traynham.  Burial was in the 
Mt. Carmel cemetery.

   Pallbearers were Otis Joyner, Frank Johnson, Julian Carr, Willie Beale, 
Jasper Carr, Taylor Holland and Charlie Bland and Sherman Johnson.
