CORBITT RETIRED MINISTER OF COLOSSE CHURCH CARRSVILLE - The Rev. Rufus Herbert Corbitt, 75, of Route 1 died Thursday in Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin. A native of Southampton, he was the husband of Mrs. Adelaide Reamy Corbitt. He was a retired Baptist minister and had been pastor of Colosse Baptist Church, and 17 years at Emmaus Baptist Church in Poquoson. He was a graduate of the University of Richmond and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Becky Babb of Tabb and Mrs. Carol Thompson of Warsaw, N.C.; two sons, Fleming Corbitt of Hampton and David Corbitt of Smithfield; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Mary Drewry of Franklin and Mrs. Abbie Bridges of Chesapeake; two brothers, Charles Corbitt of Franklin and James Corbitt of Newport News; nine grandchildren; and a great- grandchild. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Colosse Baptist Church by the Rev. Donald Trump. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. ****************************************************************************** REV. RUFUS HERBERT CORBITT CARRSVILLE - A funeral service for the Rev. Rufus Herbert Corbitt, 75, was held Saturday at 2 p.m. in Colosse Baptist Church by the Rev. Donald Trump. Burial was in the church cemetery, with Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, in charge. Pallbearers were: George Barker, Keith Johnson, Delman Carr, Raby Holland, Ronny Cobb and Steve Gwaltney.
