Thomas Corbell Buried Wednesday Eulious Thomas Corbell, a resident of Carrollton, who died on Monday evening at a Norfolk hospital, was buried Wednesday afnoon in the family plot in Isle of Wight County. Funeral services were conducted at 3 o'clock at Oak Grove Methodist Church near Crittenden. The funeral party left the Sturtevant Funeral Home in Norfolk at 1:45 o'clock. Eulious Thomas CORBELL, of Carrollton, retired oysterman, b. 19 Jan 1882*, Isle of Wight Co., d. 14 Sep 1942, Norfolk, interred in the HOLLADAY family cemetery*, Breezewood Dr., 16 Sep 1942, "Smithfield (VA) Times," Vol. 25, No. 27, Thurs., Sep. 17, 1942, p. 1 *Additional information: Unmarked. His sister Emily J. CORBELL (ca. 1877 - 14 Apr 1884) & their father, Thomas Henry CORBELL (1842 - 1918), are marked. The 1880 Census - e.d. 31, Isle of Wight Co. - gives age 2. The Isle of Wight Co. Her parents are also buried there. D.Cert. 19540 (Norfolk #1658) His father was a Confederate veteran, having served in Co. D, 6th VA Infantry before transferring to Young's Co. of Artillery. He was also an oysterman. His mother, "Nannie" Nancy (JOHNSON) CORBELL (b. ca. 1849) applied for a pension 10 Jun 1918. A seamstress, she appears with "Eulise" [age "55"] in the 1930 Census - Roscoe Neck Rd., Newport Dist., IoW.Co.
