Mrs. Lillian R. Carson

  Mrs. Lillian Roberts Carson, 88, died Wednesday in Louise Obici Memorial 
Hospital. 

  She was a native of Isle of Wight County, the widow of William H. Carson, 
daughter of Benjamin C. Roberts and Martha Bracey Roberts. 

  She was a member of Windsor Baptist Church. 

  She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. R. Sidney Cox, Jr. of Smithfield, 
2 sons, B. Robert Carson of Portsmouth and C. Russell Carson of Norfolk, 
5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. 

  Funeral services were held Friday at 3 p.m. at the graveside in Beaver 
Dam Baptist Church Cemetery by the Rev. H.B. Fisher and Rev. William N. 
Raney.  Services were directed by Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield. 
Pallbearers were Richard S. Cox, III, William Carson Cox, Raymond L. Thomas, 
Vance Watkins, Zenus Roberts, William Rose, Hunter Daughtrey, Davis Lee Godwin.
