Harold L. Rumfelt of Windsor Baptist Church and the Rev. Glenn G. Williams of Trinity Methodist Church, Smithfield. Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield was in charge. Pallbearers were William Rose, J.C. Rose Jr., Hunter Daughtrey, Jasper Daughtrey, Davis Lee Godwin and Russell Carson Jr. Carson, 91, a retired Isle of Wight County farmer, died Thursday morning in a Newport News hospital after a long illness. A native of Isle of Wight County, he lived in Windsor 33 years. In 1964 he went to Smithfield to live with a daughter, Mrs. Sara C. Cox. He was a son of Robert D. and Mrs. Sarah E. Carson and the husband of Mrs. Lillian Roberts Carson. He was a senior deacon of Windsor Baptist Church. Besides his widow and daughter, surviving are two sons, B. Robert Carson of Portsmouth and C. Russell Carson of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. John C. Rose of Carrsville and Mrs. R.O. Edgerton of Portsmouth; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
