The deceased was the son of the late Frank Pierce and Tullie Faircloth Crumpler of Isle of Wight County. He was a member of the Ivor Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Esther Britt Crumpler of Ivor; four sons, John Franklin Crumpler of Newport News, Robert E. Crumpler and Julian Crumpler of Norfolk, and Bobbie Lee Crumpler of Ivor; two daughters, Mrs. Christian Youngblood of Albemarle, N.C., and Mrs. Tullie Austin of Suffolk; five stepdaughters, Mrs. Marjorie Joyner and Mrs. O.S. Clark of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Fred B. Jones and Misses Peggy Ann Joyner and Jean Paige Joyner of Ivor; two stepsons, B.E. Joyner of Portsmouth and John B. Joyner of Ivor; four grandchildren; and five sisters, Mrs. Emma Bryant of Ivor, Mrs. Dora Bryant of Virginia Beach, Mrs. H.P. Murphy of Suffolk, Mrs. H.E. Branch of Norfolk and Mrs. S.D. Locke of Portsmouth. Funeral services for Mr. Crumpler were held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the Ivor Baptist Church with Rev. R.D. Stephenson of Franklin officiating, assisted by Rev. J.E. White. Interment was in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. Active pallbearers were Winston Camp, Hurley Clark, Archie Gardner, Francis Joyner, Marion Raiford and Frank Rose.
