CLAUDE H. DUCK

   Claude H. Duck of Isle of Wight County died at his home near Franklin 
Sunday morning, February 11.  Mr. Duck was the son of the late Timothy and 
Mrs. Elizabeth Whitfield Duck of Isle of Wight, his wife Mrs. Mattie A. 
Duck, dying about four years ago.

   Surviving him are two daughters, Mrs. Claude Spivey and Mrs. Ernest Allen 
of Newport News; four sons, Henry and Crawley Duck of Franklin, Charles Duck 
of Washington and Claude Duck of Suffolk.

   Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home with Rev. R.D. 
Stephenson officiating, assisted by Rev. W.H. Corbitt of South Quay, 
interment following in the family cemetery.  The pallbearers were R.I. Beale, 
J.C. Holland, J.R. Hines, Jno. A. Rawls, C.J. Cutchin, Edward Jernigan, M.G. 
Councill and C.F. Whitfield.

   Mr. Duck was a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and the Bruner Bible 
Class of that Congregation.
