Edwin C. Thornton Jr., pastor. Buried was in the church cemetery with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Richmond E. Railey Jr., S.L. Joyner Jr., James C. Bradshaw, W.D. Joyner, William H. Rose, J.E. Rose Jr., J.C. Rose Jr., and Roy Worrell. Mrs. Duke, 62, retired home economics teacher, died in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk, early Thursday morning, after a long illness. A native of Southampton County, she was the wife of John F. Duke, Jr. and the daughter of Alexander and Mrs. Martha Faircloth Joyner of Southampton County. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and associate member of the Society of Friends. She was a graduate of Guilford College. Surviving besides her husband are one sister, Mrs. Ruth J. Bradshaw, Franklin; and one brother, S. Linley Joyner of Jarratt and several nieces and nephews. Doris Chase (JOYNER; Mrs. John F.
