DUCK, 83, BURIED MAY 13 AT MT. CARMEL CHURCH Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Turner Duck, 83, one of Walters' oldest residents, died at her home on Sunday, May 11, about 11:45 p.m. after an illness of several months. Known in the community as "Aunt Fannie," she was one of Walters' most active elder citizens until her health failed about a year ago. She was the widow of John Gilbert Duck and the daughter of Robert and Mary Lou Edwards Turner of Isle of Wight County. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian church and of its Woman's Missionary Society. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Ballard, and a granddaughter, Mrs. J. Leonard Rose, Sr., of Walters; a grandson, John Ballard, Jr., of Suffolk; and a great-grandson, John Leonard Rose, Jr., of Walters. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Mt. Carmel Christian Church by Rev. Ellis Clark, a former pastor, and Rev. R.E. Brittle, pastor of Bethlehem Christian Church.
