Duck, died Wednesday afternoon in her home after illness of many months. She was a daughter of John T. and Mrs. Sadie Darden Carr of Isle of Wight County, and was a member of Colosse Baptist Church. Besides her husband, surviving are five daughters, Miss Jamie Duck and Mrs. Taylor Holland of Walters, Mrs. Norman Howell of Carrsville, Mrs. Clyde Simmons of Suffolk and Mrs. Charles Redd of Windsor; four sons, John H. Duck and Lloyd Duck of Carrsville, William L. Duck of Windsor and A.L. Duck, Jr., of Walters; three sisters, Mrs. Annie Darden and Mrs. Ruben Spivey of Windsor and Mrs. Charlie Rhodes of Carrsville; two brothers, John Henry Carr and William Carr of Carrsville; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Donald E. Trump of Colosse Baptist Church. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery, Walters. Active pallbearers were Frank F. Johnson, Dr. Clem C. Crossland, J.L. Rose, Elton Stephenson, Otis B. Joyner and John M. Ballard.
