Born in Isle of Wight County, she lived in Smithfield the last 18 years. She was a daughter of the late James M. and Mrs. Jane Barrett Duck. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, its Women’s Society of Christian Service and Susannah Wesley Bible Class, and Smithfield Rebekah Lodge 61. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elsie D. Rose; one grandson Charles H. Rose of Smithfield and two sisters, Mrs. Mollie V. Bradshaw of Suffolk and Mrs. Addie L. Hall of Isle of Wight County. A funeral service will be conducted at Bullock Funeral Home, Smithfield, Monday at 2 p.m., with burial in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery near Windsor. ****************************************************************************** Rites Monday At Smithfield For Mrs. Duck SMITHFIELD - Funeral services for Mrs. Sadie Saunders Duck will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Bullock Funeral dome. Burial will be in Antioch Christian Church Cemetery, near Windsor. Mrs. Duck died early Saturday in the Obici Memorial Hospital, after an illness of several months. She was a native of Isle of Wight County and had lived in Smithfield for the past 16 years. She was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, the Women's Society of Christian Service, the Susannah Wesley Bible Class and Smithfield Rebecca Lodge No. 61. She was the widow of Jacob Alen Duck and a daughter of the late James M. and Mrs. Jane Barrett Duck. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Elsie D. Rose; a grandson, Charles H. Rose of Smithfield; two sisters, Mrs. Mollie V. Bradshaw of Suffolk and Mrs. Addie L. Clarence England of Trinity Methodist Church and the Rev. James W. Unruh of Woodland Methodist Church. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers were Simon G. Williams, Willis T. Chapman, Charles C. Howell, Cleveland L. Hall, Edward S. Turner and J. Leonard Rose.
