Daughtrey died at her home on the Franklin-Carrsville highway in Isle of Wight County Tuesday afternoon, ending her life with a pistol shot through the heart which brought death almost instantly. Mrs. Daughtrey had been in failing health for some time. She was the daughter of the late Allen and Elizabeth Norfleet Daughtrey and the widow of Edward Dixon Daughtrey. She was a faithful and useful member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Mrs. Daughtrey is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Fred M. Corbin of Windsor, Mrs. Edgar V. Stephenson of Ivor, Mrs. Frank B. Jones of Norfolk and Miss Blanche Daughtrey of Isle of Wight; two sons, Algie B. Daughtrey of Norfolk and Edward D. Daughtrey of Franklin; a sister, Miss Lydia M. Daughtrey of Franklin; three brothers, W.A Daughtrey of Suffolk, J.O.H. and B.R. Daughtrey of Franklin, and 13 grandchildren. Services were conducted at Beaver Dam Church Thursday morning at 11 o’clock by her pastor, Rev. J.T. Garland Moore, assisted by Rev. W.B. Denson of Buena Vista, a former pastor. Interment was made in the church cemetery, with the following pallbearers; Elmer Daughtrey, Howard Daughtrey, J. Hurley Daughtrey, C.N. Johnson, Lawrence Johnson, William H. Cutchin, Linwood Norfleet and J.J. Bradshaw. Eva Lee (DAUGHTREY; Mrs. Edward D.)
