Born May 3, 1918, in Nansemond County, he was a son of the late James Ralph and Maggie Lee Crocker Daughtrey. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and past president of the Men's Bible Class, a member of Carrsville Ruritan Club and retiree with 36 years of service from Union Camp Corp. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Grace Henry Daughtrey; two daughters, Linda D. Johnson of Franklin and Carol Lee D. Carr of Suffolk; a son, James H. Daughtrey of Suffolk; three brothers, Robert Daughtrey of Ahoskie, N.C., and James R. Daughtrey and Aubrey Daughtrey, both of Suffolk; five grandchildren, William Bradley Johnson, Valerie H. Revelle, Rodney Allen Holland, Clay Corbitt Johnson and Kelsey Daughtrey; and seven great- grandchildren, Taylor Revelle, Megan Revelle, Triston Holland, Justin Holland, Logan Johnson, Paige Johnson and Blake Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Beaver Dam Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard L. Peerey officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests that memorial gifts be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church, 3593 Carrsville Highway, Franklin, VA 23851, or to the Carrsville Ruritan Club, Carrsville, VA 23315.
